B.S. Elementary Education, Bob Jones University
Mrs. Linda Ollila accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 13. While in elementary school, she knew she wanted to be a teacher. Godly leaders at Calvary Baptist Church, in Roseville, Michigan had a burden to open a Christian school and it was her deepest desire to teach there one day. God gave her the desire of her heart in 1979 when she was hired to teach 3rd grade at Calvary Christian School, which is now Faith Christian School, and has been serving here for over 25 years.
Mrs. Ollila taught 3rd grade for 3 years. She then stepped out of full time teaching to raise her children. Mrs. Ollila returned to teach 5th grade until she “retired” in 2010. During those years, she directed 5 elementary plays, was a senior sponsor, helped with elementary programs and did what she loves most – TEACH CHILDREN. There are 2 phrases Mrs. Ollila would often use in her class that could be heard repeated by her students – “Details, Details, Details” and “Practice makes Permanent” It was and still is her desire to teach children to do their best in everything and be the right example to others. I Timothy 4:12 was the heartbeat of her classroom.
Mrs. Ollila serves the Lord with her husband, Earl. Her greatest joy is to watch as her 3 sons, who are graduates of Faith Christian, serve the Lord with their families and be called Grandma by 7 adorable grandchildren!
